Giles is a highly experienced UK based Film and TV composer.
He has a long list of credits spanning 18 years writing numerous TV scores, themes and epic trailers. Some of his most recent work includes the music for the ITV Series ‘Slow Trains through Africa with Griff Rhys Jones’ (IWC/Zodiak), the BAFTA winning series ’Secret Life of Boys’ (CBBC/ABC Australia) and ‘Meet The Penguins’ (Animal Plant/National Geographic) along with world class cinematics for numerous global brands such as Fable Heroes, Dead Island, Grey Goo and Suckerpunch amongst many others.
Recent credits include Love it or List it (CH4), Kirsty's Home Made Christmas (CH4) and Eamonn and Ruth Explore (CH5). He recently scored the music for the award winning feature Documentary ‘Holy Hell’ for CNN and recently had his work performed and recorded by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra for Visit Scotland as part of the ‘Spirit of Scotland’ campaign.
Giles is an incredibly versatile and passionate composer and musician with experience composing in many different contexts from the epic to the intimate. His work ranges from Factual, Game Cinematic, Drama, Childrens, Animation and film.
His music also features on a number of high end productions such as Hawaii five 0 (CBS), Rectify (Sundance TV) and Mr Avilla (HBO). He collaborated on the award winning soundtrack to Nicolas Winding Refn's 'Valhalla Rising' and scored the animated prequels to ‘Sucker punch’ for Warner Brothers. In 2012, He won the inaugural Sound and Music awards for his spellbinding ‘Dead Island’ trailer score which helped gave him international recognition as a modern composer.
In addition to his TV and film music work, Giles has produced a number of his own albums and enjoys a loyal fanbase with 100K monthly listeners on Spotify and more than 30M views on youtube. He is external examiner for the Glasgow School of Art Sound to Moving Image Masters and has recently started exploring the potential of sound and music in VR collaborating with design company ISO Design (Siren Servers)
