Giles Lamb is a solo artist and professional music composer born in England and residing in Scotland. As a diverse, talented musician with love for various genres, he has spent nearly three decades professionally composing music while featuring his sounds in hundreds of commercials, television shows, and documentaries.

Before his successful career as a skilled composer with a genuine passion for creating music that touches the heart and relaxes the mind, he studied neuroscience and music psychology at Glasgow University, even completing a short stint at medical school before deciding to pursue a career in music. Although not classically trained, Giles has mastered the art of using computers to create some of the most incredible classical music and scores while offering a wide range of genres, including jazz, electronic, classical, and Celtic, all of which initially started with the 12-bar blues.

While on his exciting musical journey, he has managed to work with leading brands and wonderful people, composing sounds for television films, commercials, games, and top-rated animated series. Known for writing music for Sky Kids and The Brilliant World of Tom Gates, he hopes to inspire the younger generation with his soothing sounds while generating interest in sound design and film scoring. In addition to creating music for these animated series, he has had score featured in various documentaries and dramas, such as Holy Hell on CNN and Slow Trains Through Africa with Griff Rhys Jones on ITV. He’s also composed music featured in the top five game trailers ever made, including Dead Island, for which he received an award.

Having worked in the music industry since 1997, Giles Lamb can proudly say that his wonderful sounds are everywhere, from The Secret Life of Boys to Scottish Water, Simple Dreams, and Hushabye Lullabye, to name a few. Because of his dedication to composing unique sounds that resonate with listeners, he has earned numerous notable awards over the years, including the Cannes Golden Lion in 2011, Music and Sound Award in 2012, Bessie Awards, Gold in 2013, and Children’s BAFTA in 2016. While widely recognized for his talent as a creative composer and soundtrack creator, he has had the opportunity to work with some of the largest brands in the entertainment industry.

Despite a long list of credits and numerous achievements, Giles Lamb remains humble and focused on his latest creations, whether he’s producing sounds for others or creating his own albums, where he provides his listeners with therapeutic songs to enjoy, whether they’re at home, in the car, or spending time in the office.

While music is his passion in life and one thing that keeps him busy, he also enjoys spending quality time with his three daughters, traveling to new and exciting places, and hill walking throughout Scotland in his spare time. His long walks allow him to relax, unwind, and find inspiration for some of his latest tracks. Although he has spent the past 25 years dedicated to the music industry, Giles Lamb has no plans of retiring and looks forward to evoking raw emotion while telling stories through the art of music.
